Class Sizes

We limit class size to provide quality instruction. Classes typically range from 14-16 students. Larger classes (such as Musical Theatre) will work with two teaching artists.

For up-to-date availability, please check NCT's website. NCT reserves the right to cancel a class that does not meet enrollment requirements.

Wait lists

To be placed on a wait list, add the preferred class(es) to your cart in our online registration system. You will not be charged tuition. If a space becomes available, we will contact you to arrange registration.


NCT will issue a refund for cancellations made at least two weeks prior to the first day of class less a mandatory $50.00 cancellation fee. Transfers are subject to availability, must be made two weeks prior to the original class date, and incur a $25.00 transfer fee. Within two weeks of a class, there will be no refunds.

Inclement Weather

In the case of inclement weather, NCT will hold classes as scheduled if staff are able to travel to the theatre safely. In the event that a class is cancelled due to inclement weather, we will update our website, Facebook page, and will email all class participants. We are unable to offer make up classes or refunds for classes cancelled due to weather.

Age Ranges and Prerequisites

NCT’s curriculum is developmentally appropriate with classes defined by age. Advanced classes may have prerequisites. Please observe these recommendations to ensure your child’s success as well as that of the entire class. NCT staff pays special attention to make sure that children are in the appropriate level.

Parent Free Zones

For the safety and security of your child, we do not allow adults to watch the camps. This simple rule helps us ensure that no one is here who should not be. In addition, the teacher can better guide the class dynamic and atmosphere.


It is important that students are here every day of class and arrive on time. If a child needs to miss a class or will be late, please let NCT know in advance with as much notice as possible. If a child misses a day of class, tuition will not be prorated.

What to Bring

Students will need to pack a snack and lunch each day of camp. We will break mid-morning for snack. Please pack a sack lunch that does not require refrigeration or microwaving and a drink. Please also include utensils your child may need. 

We also encourage students to bring a water bottle. 

Scripts and sheet music will be distributed to camps that require them. Students will be expected to return each day with scripts and music.

What to Wear

Students should dress comfortably, but please, NO FLIP-FLOPS OR CROCS. Please be aware that our students move a lot, and sit on the floor for some parts of the class.

Extended Hours Care

During week-long camps, extended care is available for an additional fee and consists of supervised, unstructured free-play.

  • *Before Care is available at NCT Downtown from 7:30 am to 9 am Monday - Friday.

  • After Care is available from 3 pm to 5:30 pm Monday - Friday.

  • Fee: $40 per week for each (prorated at $10/day)

Space is limited. You can add extended care to your order when you first register online. If you are adding extended care after the initial registration or to sign a child up for a single day of before or after care, please contact NCT staff directly. 

*Only After Care is offered at our Ensworth satellite location. Before Care is only offered at our downtown location. 


The safety and well-being of all children is the most important aspect of the Nashville Children’s Theatre camp experience. We have developed a series of policies and procedures for NCT employees, including:

  • Enhanced background checks for all applicants throughout the company.

  • 2 instructors per classroom at all times.

  • All classes are structured as group activities.

  • Student-teacher interactions must be observable AND uninterruptible without exception.

Sharings & Open Classrooms

On the last day of most camps and classes, participants will share what they have been exploring at NCT for family and friends. These sharings and open classrooms take place during normal class time for weekly classes, and begin at 3 pm on Friday for week-long camps. Drama Makers Open Classrooms occur in their classroom at 2:30 pm. Ages 6+ Sharings will occur in age order, beginning with our youngest students.


Parents will need to sign children in each day of class. On the first day of class, please visit the sign-in table in the lobby. At that time, please confirm any medical concerns/needs for your child, as well as who may pick your child up. Please be sure to greet an NCT staff member each time you drop off so that we are aware of your child's arrival.


Camps: Dashboard Cards are color-coded for your child's class and will be issued the first day of camp at sign-in. Please place this card on your dashboard when you pick up your child. We will be using the two pick-up lanes at the parking lot entrance. Please use the lane marked for your child's class. We will escort your child to your car. Your child's teacher will have a clipboard with a sign-out sheet that he/she will bring to your car. Please utilize this system to assist us with both efficiency and safety of all children. After Care pick up is inside the building at the front desk.

Weekly Classes: Sign out will take place at your child's classroom door. Please have your photo ID ready to show the teacher.


Enrollment will be confirmed by email. Add,,, and to the safe list of your email. Additional camp information will be sent to your email address 1-2 weeks prior to the session that you are enrolled.

Benefits and Discounts

Holders of Season Memberships and Donors at the Explorer level or higher are eligible for Priority Registration (typically one week earlier than open registration) and also receive a 10% discount on tuition.
